Struan Duthie

Struan Duthie ~ Director / Senior Counsellor

MEd Counselling, BA, LTh, Dip Ed, MZNAC, MNZCCA.

Struan has been involved in counselling for over 30 years. Struan has a special interest in depression, trauma and relationship counselling. He has been Director of Petersgate since its inception.

Priscilla Brown Priscilla Brown ~ Senior Counsellor 

Dip Counselling, MNZAC.

Priscilla has worked for many years in social agencies in various roles and is in her 10th year at Petersgate. Priscilla enjoys working with adults of all ages and has a particular interest in relationship issues, grief and stress.

Margie Phillips Margie Phillips ~ Senior Counsellor 

SRN, Cert Counselling, MNZAC.

Margie has a background in nursing. She has been counselling for over 13 years and has been at Petersgate for the last 10 years. She enjoys working with individuals and couples of all ages and has particular experience and interest in relationships, grief and stress.

Mary Whalan Mary Whalan ~ Senior Counsellor 

MEd Counselling (Distinction), BA (English), Cert Adult Teaching, Cert Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, MNZAC.

Mary has a background in fertility education and reproductive health. She has specific interests in depression, grief and loss, adoption and cultural issues. Mary uses both Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Narrative Therapy approaches.

Sky Williams Sky Williams

Dip Counselling, MNZAC, Dip Nat Medicine, Cert Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

Sky has a background in technology and has worked as a naturopath, a phone counsellor for Lifeline and as a mentor for adolescents. He uses a Person-Centred approach and enjoys working with individuals towards growth and the realisation of their full potential.

Fumiko Wakeham Fumiko Wakeham

Diploma in Counselling.

Fumiko is originally from Japan and has lived in New Zealand for more than 13 years. She trained in the Person-Centred approach and can counsel in Japanese as well as in English. She has particular interest in trauma and loss.

Annakatrien Verbaak Annekatrien Verbraak

BA (Social Work), MSc (Psychology), MEd (Counselling).

Annekatrien enjoys working with people of all ages and cultures. Annekatrien uses her understanding of psychology as well as various counselling methods with a base of Solution-Focused Therapy in her sessions.

Jaimee Shelton Jaimee Shelton

BA (Psychology & Education), Postgraduate Diploma in Guidance Studies.

Jaimee is studying for a Diploma in Counselling and has experience in phone counselling. She uses a variety of different approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Person-Centred approaches. Her speciality is working with children and adolescents..

Jacqueline Scott Jacqueline Scott

Dip Gestalt Psychotherapy.

Jacqueline has a background in language development and recovery. She supports clients to manage depression, loss and grief and family relationship issues. She has a special interest in working with single parents, bicultural families and adoption.

Helen Roud Helen Roud

BTheol, MHSc (Gerontology), Science Cert (Psych/Statistics), NZSC (Biochem/Microbiology).

Helen has a background in research, both endocrine and older persons health. She co-facilitates Clinical Pastoral Education units and is training as a CPE supervisor. Her approach is Person-Centred, embracing all-of-life issues.

Wilson Reveley Wilson Reveley

BA (Psych & Sociology), Grad Dip Social Work, MANZASW.

Wilson has a background in mental health social work and youth counselling. Wilson uses a Person-Centred approach and is studying for a Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy.

Karey Meisner Karey Meisner

BA (Psych & Criminology), MEd Counselling (Distinction), MNZAC, CCA(Cdn).

Karey has a specific interest in people who are experiencing anxiety & depression, stress, men's issues, or life adjustments, including new immigrants. He mainly uses a Solution-Focused approach.

Petra van Litsenburg Petra van Litsenburg

BFA. 

Petra has been working in the area of eating disorders, and abuse.  She has also worked with people who have experienced trauma and crisis, and with people who are dying and their families.  Petra is studying for a Diploma in Gestalt Therapy.

Anita Koziarski Anita Koziarski 

Dip Counselling, MNZAC.

Anita is trained in Person-Centred counselling and enjoys working with individuals and couples of all ages and backgrounds.

Geoff King Geoff King

BA (Hons), BD, PhD.

Geoff is currently studying for a   Masters Degree in counselling, using mainly a Solution-Focused approach, with an openness to and ongoing interest in Narrative and Person-Centred counselling styles.
Barbara Hayman Barbara Hayman

Dip Counselling, MNZAC.

Barbara comes from a background in Anglican pastoral care work and enjoys working with adults of all ages, with a special interest in the over 50’s age group. She uses a Person-Centred approach to counselling and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy as appropriate.

Rosie Hancock Rosie Hancock

MA (Cantab)

Rosie has a background in business and technology consulting, and more recently career counselling. She is in the final year of her Master’s Degree in Education with Certificate in Counselling. She uses mainly a Solution-Focused approach, with special interests in life-coaching and personal development.

Di Ellis Di Ellis

European Dip Counselling, MNZAC, Member of BACP.

Di enjoys working with individuals of all ages and has experience in grief, loss, stress, and life’s many changes including living in a new country and living with serious illness. She offers a Person-Centred approach that can be combined with Interactive Drawing Therapy (IDT).

Sue Molloy Sue Molloy 

MEd (Counselling), Dip Teaching, Cert TESOL.

This is Sue’s 6th year at Petersgate. She has trained in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and enjoys working with folk of all ages. She has particular interests in multi-cultural counselling and youth work.

Gerda De Kleyne Gerda De Kleyne

Dip Counselling, MNZAC.

Gerda has a gentle, respectful and genuine Person-Centred approach. Gerda is interested in relationship counselling, intimacy issues, sexuality, life transitions, happiness and coaching. Gerda's experience includes 20 years of Mental Health nursing, HR Management and Supervision.

Lorraine Green Lorraine Green 

Lorraine is training as a Gestalt Psychotherapist. She has had roles in small business management and draws on a lifetime of experience including raising her four sons. Lorraine has studied Counselling, Relationship Mastery and the Art of Living. She works with all life issues and specialises in facilitating her clients to 'Dare to be their True Selves'.

 

Christine Frost Christine Frost

Dip Counselling.

Christine has trained in Person-Centred Therapy. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages drawing on her training, a variety of approaches and life experiences. She works with issues of grief, loss and depression.

Lindy Elliot Lindy Elliot

Dip G Psych, RGON, MNZNO.

Lindy's background is in nursing in which she also counsels those who have a visual or other related health issue. She has an interest in how we make sense of our life experiences and is open to working with and supporting people to explore this and other issues.

Darren Cuskelly Darren Cuskelly

BA Social Science, Dip Social Science.

Darren is currently studying for a Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy. His background is in family and individual counselling and in the fields of disability, child protection and youth mentoring. Darren uses Narrative, Solution Focused and Gestalt Therapies and is interested in self-awareness, domestic violence and male issues.

David Cartwright David Cartwright

PhD (Education psychology)

David is passionate about learning and relationships. He brings qualities of being present, listening and reflecting to support people to discover their own knowing and resources. David has worked as a lecturer, thinking coach, Lifeline counsellor and researcher.
